Tailored DSDM

Small projects can still benefit from applying the DSDM principles and techniques, such as timeboxing and MoSCoW prioritisation. Therefore the DSDM consortium has a published in a Small Projects adapation of the method, some details of which we give here because of the close links with Modular Prototyping.

All the phases address the usual concerns, but are minimal in what they produce, i.e. all the objectives need to be thought through for each of the phases, but the product set will be reduced and minimal. In this they also converge on eXtreme Programming.

Warning: This adaptation of the DSDM process is only for very small projects. It must not be taken as a standard short cut for other DSDM projects. The product set in DSDM is considered to be the smallest possible for successful implementation of anything other than a very small application.
